Doctors for Smiling Children continues its humanitarian efforts to provide specialized medical care for children through an effective partnership with Palestinian Ministry of Health, aiming to improve access to advanced surgical services and strengthen the healthcare system in Palestine.
The organization focuses on performing complex surgical procedures for children, particularly cases of cleft lip. These interventions include cleft lip reconstruction, bone grafting for cleft conditions, and cleft palate repair all of which are delicate procedures that help improve speech, feeding ability, and overall appearance.
The services also include rhinoplasty, especially for congenital deformities, helping children restore normal function and regain self-confidence.
These procedures are carried out through specialized medical missions that include international and local doctors. Surgeries are performed in Palestinian hospitals in full coordination with the Ministry of Health, ensuring knowledge transfer and strengthening the capacities of local medical staff.
In this context, the organization affirms that its mission goes beyond treatment to include psychological and social support for children and their families, as well as training programs aimed at developing the skills of Palestinian medical teams in reconstructive surgery.
These efforts are part of a comprehensive vision to ensure the sustainability of healthcare services and to reach the largest possible number of children in need, especially under challenging humanitarian conditions.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to continuing cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Health and its local and international partners to expand these humanitarian initiatives, bring smiles to children’s faces, and strengthen the resilience of the healthcare sector in Palestine.
