In a meaningful humanitarian partnership… Emergenza Sorrisi and Askar Association implement “Our Elders Are Our Blessing”

 

As part of ongoing humanitarian efforts, Emergenza Sorrisi, in collaboration with Askar Association, implemented the “Our Elders Are Our Blessing” initiative, with the participation of more than 60 senior citizens. The event reflects a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare and social support for this important group within the community.

This activities implemented under the project , strengthening  medical and health resilience in Palestine (AID 12273/1/2) Funded by Italian agency for development corporation (AICS) AND ITALIAN MINISTRY OF FRIEND AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The initiative was carried out within a framework of effective partnership, featuring a range of activities, meetings, and services designed to address the needs of senior citizens and provide a supportive and inclusive environment that values their role in society.

The President of Askar Association, Amjad Al-Refai, emphasized that this initiative represents a successful model of institutional collaboration, noting that the partnership with Emergenza Sorrisi contributes to expanding and sustaining services provided to the elderly.

In turn, the Head of the Popular Committee for Services of New Askar Camp, Mohammad Abu Khashk, highlighted the importance of such joint initiatives in supporting senior citizens, stressing that coordinated efforts between institutions create a tangible impact on the ground.

For his part, the Director of International Relations at Askar Association, Ashraf Al-Sayegh, stated that this initiative is part of an ongoing series of programs implemented in partnership with international organizations, aimed at improving service quality and strengthening humanitarian impact.

In a heartfelt reflection of the event’s impact, Ms. Widad expressed her great happiness with the initiative, emphasizing the importance of continuing such activities that bring care, attention, and dignity to senior citizens.

The organizing parties affirmed that the “Our Elders Are Our Blessing” campaign will continue through upcoming programs and sustainable initiatives, ensuring ongoing support and improved quality of life for senior citizens.
