Emergenza sorrisi and Al-Shaab Medical clinic Expand Impact Through Ongoing Free Medical Campaign, Reaching 600+ Beneficiaries in Eastern Nablus

Emergenza sorrisiDoctors for Smiling Children” and Al-Shaab Medical clinic Expand Impact Through Ongoing Free Medical Campaign, Reaching 600+ Beneficiaries in Eastern Nablus As part of a sustained humanitarian healthcare campaign implemented throughout April and May, “Doctors for Smiling Children”  in partnership with Al-Shaab Medical Center, continues to scale up its free medical services for vulnerable communities.

This activity was implemented under the project “Strengthening Medical and Health Resilience in Palestine” (AID 12273/1/2), funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The latest comprehensive medical day in the eastern area of Nablus provided direct healthcare services and essential medications to more than 600 beneficiaries, reinforcing the long-term impact and continuity of this initiative. This medical day is part of a broader series of free medical activities conducted over the past two months, aimed at ensuring continuous access to healthcare services rather than one-time interventions.

The campaign has included multiple specialties and expanded outreach to families facing increasing economic and health-related challenges. The latest day witnessed strong participation from multiple medical specialties, ensuring a comprehensive service model.

Participating physicians included Dr. Qasem Daghles, specialist in orthopedics, joints, and spine surgery, Dr. Tareq Hajji, pediatric specialist, and Dr. Mohammad Al-Shobaki, alongside the medical teams of Al-Shaab Medical Center. Services covered general medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, and additional clinical consultations, reflecting an integrated healthcare response to community needs. Free medications were also provided to patients according to medical necessity and available supplies, significantly reducing the financial burden on hundreds of families who otherwise lack access to treatment.

Imad Hassanein, representative of Emergenza sorrisi “Doctors for Smiling Children” , stated: “This is not a single event, but part of a continuous humanitarian medical program that has been running through April and May. Our goal is to build a sustainable model of healthcare delivery that reaches people where they are, especially those who cannot afford basic treatment. The growing demand we see confirms the urgency of continuing and expanding this work.”

Amjad Al-Rifai, Head of the Administrative Board of Al-Shaab Medical Center, emphasized the importance of continuity and institutional support: “What distinguishes this initiative is its continuity. Through a series of medical days across multiple months, we are building a structured response to real community needs. Each day reflects new cases, new families, and new urgent needs.

This model demonstrates that consistent humanitarian healthcare can create real, measurable impact.” Beneficiaries also highlighted the significance of ongoing support: “This is not the first time we benefit from these services. The continuity means everything to families like ours who cannot afford regular treatment.” “Having multiple specialties in one place saves us time, money, and worry.

We feel that someone is finally standing with us.” “These medical days are becoming a lifeline for many households. We hope they continue and expand further.” The initiative includes orthopedic care, pediatric services, internal medicine, general consultations, and medication distribution, reflecting a comprehensive and multi-specialty healthcare response.

This ongoing campaign remains a key part of the joint strategy between Emergenza sorrisi“Doctors for Smiling Children” Association and Al-Shaab Medical Center to strengthen community health resilience, expand access to essential services, and ensure that medical care reaches those most in need in a consistent and dignified manner.
