Emergenza Sorrisi Supports a Free Medical Day Serving Over 700 Beneficiaries in Askar Camp

Askar New Camp – In cooperation with Emergenza Sorrisi – Doctors for Smiling Children, Askar New Camp witnessed a large-scale free medical day organized by the People’s Medical Clinic in partnership with Physicians for Human Rights, supported by Askar Association for Community Development and the Popular Committee for Services of Askar New Camp. More than 700 residents from the eastern area of Nablus benefited from the event.

Over 25 doctors from various medical specialties participated in the medical day, along with more than 10 volunteers who assisted patients and facilitated procedures. Free medical consultations were provided, and medications were dispensed to attendees.

The event was attended by official and community figures, including Governor of Nablus Ghassan Daghlas, Head of the Popular Committee in the camp Mahmoud Abu Kashk, Director of the People’s Medical Clinic Mohammed Rifai, Popular Committee member Jumaa Al-Hashash, and President of Askar Association Amjad Al-Rifai, in addition to several community and medical figures.

Amjad Al-Rifai, President of Askar Association, stated that this medical day reflects a genuine partnership between medical and community institutions, noting that services were provided to more than 700 beneficiaries and that the initiative will be repeated periodically to strengthen the right to healthcare.

Mahmoud Abu Kashk emphasized that the strong presence of medical staff and volunteers reflects the spirit of social solidarity, reaffirming that the People’s Medical Clinic will continue to serve residents on a regular basis.

Dr. Salah Al-Hajj Yahya, Director of the Mobile Clinic at Physicians for Human Rights, highlighted the importance of such initiatives, stating that “reaching vulnerable groups is a humanitarian and medical duty that reflects the mission of our organization on the ground.”

Several beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the free medical services provided, praising the efforts of medical teams and volunteers.

The event concluded with an emphasis on strengthening cooperation between medical, community, and official institutions. Organizers announced that this initiative will be held on a monthly basis, aiming to reinforce the right to health and promote social justice.
